The maximum possible frost protection of approx. -52 ° C is obtained with a mixture of 2: 1 (concentrate: water). Pure anti-freeze reduces the effectiveness of the cooling compared to a 1: 1 mixture with approximately 50%.
Antifreeze concentrates, however, also contribute to the increase in boiling point, which protects the motor against overheating in the summer. With a mixture of water and antifreeze in the ratio 1: 1, the boiling point of the refrigerant is about 107 ° C.
